EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It is an honor to join Leadership Amarillo and Canyon as Executive Director. I am truly excited to step into this role and continue the organization’s long-standing tradition of cultivating leaders who serve and strengthen our community.

Over the past two decades, my work has centered around leadership development, education, and nonprofit engagement. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications from West Texas A and M University and have had the privilege of serving in roles with Fairly Group, Rogers LEAD WT, Make-A-Wish® North Texas, Amarillo ISD’s GEAR UP program, and Panhandle PBS. These experiences have deepened my belief in the power of service, mentorship, and community connection.

I am grateful for the strong foundation built by Lisa Blake, an amazing Board of Directors, and the many leaders who have guided this program over the years. My goal is to honor their legacy while bringing fresh energy and perspective to our mission.

Together, we will continue equipping leaders to make a lasting difference in Amarillo, Canyon, and the surrounding region.

I am a Panhandle native – I grew up in Stratford, Texas, and married my high school sweetheart, Ross. After finishing my education at WT, we had no doubt this community would be where we raised our family. This community is home for us in every sense, and I am deeply invested in its future.

I look forward to meeting many of you in the months ahead, learning from your insights, and working alongside you to further strengthen our community. Thank you for welcoming me—I am honored to serve.

With gratitude,

Our Story

At Leadership Amarillo & Canyon, our mission is to strengthen the community by developing and empowering leaders. Since 1981, we’ve been educating individuals who are committed to making a meaningful difference in Amarillo and Canyon.

Our flagship program, which runs from September through May, offers participants a unique opportunity to grow through leadership development, professional networking, community awareness, and social responsibility. Participants meet one day each month to engage with local businesses, explore key industries, and connect with leaders from the civic, corporate, and nonprofit sectors.

This immersive experience encourages critical thinking on current political, economic, and social issues while offering insight into the challenges our community faces. Through partnerships with a variety of local organizations, participants gain a deeper understanding of government operations, regional economic drivers, poverty-related issues, and the cultural richness that defines our area.

This transformative journey will challenge how you view your community, your business, and your role as a leader.
